Starting an axolotl tank from scratch? Don't guess your way through it.

API Freshwater Master Test Kit: your window into the tank. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH, the lot. Liquid tests, not strips, because strips lie to you.
Knock Out Household Ammonia 500ml (9.5%): the fuel for your cycle, with a 5ml dosing syringe in the box. Dose it, feed your bacteria, watch the numbers move.
API GH & KH Test Kit: general and carbonate hardness, the two numbers most people forget until their pH starts crashing. If your KH runs low, our KH Up tops it back up.
NT Labs AxoSafe, 100ml or 250ml: an axolotl-safe dechlorinator that strips chlorine and chloramine without the aloe vera that can irritate delicate gills. Pick 250ml for a bigger tank or regular large water changes.
Gravel cleaner siphon: for the water changes. You'll need one to bring nitrate down at the end of the cycle, and every week once your axolotl moves in.
JBL Slim thermometer: sits inside the tank and reads the water itself. Axolotls want 15 to 18°C, and you'll want to know before a warm spell sneaks up on you.
